In 1988, hair bands ruled the world, punk rock wasn't for the weak, and the Wizarding World was biding its time waiting for Death Eaters to come out of hiding and strike again. Because this time, Voldemort didn't die. He never went after the Potters, he never heard the Prophecy, and he's still out there somewhere, waiting.
In 1979, the Order of the Phoenix and the Ministry of Magic successfully banded together and drove the Death Eaters and Voldemort out of England, making way for a time of peace and prosperity. For the past nine years, things have been just as they ought to be. Families grew, and those who lost loved ones to Voldemort moved on, certain that he would never return. Life went on, and the surviving members of the Order of the Phoenix went their separate ways, although they always made sure to stay in touch.
The Marauders grew up. Harry Potter, Neville Longbottom, and Ron Weasley were born. Even Draco Malfoy was born to Narcissa, despite Lucius being on the run. Things slowly went back to normal, and life was happy once again.
But now, as the Wizarding World approaches the tenth anniversary of their crushing victory over Voldemort and his army, they have no way of knowing that Tom Riddle has returned - and he wants revenge. Hidden away in a place so secret that only his most loyal know where it is, Voldemort is silently reconstructing his armies. His main target? Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
